Olson Elementary School
Philosophy
Olson is a diverse and caring community whose mission is to provide a high quality education in order to encourage students to become lifelong learners. We seek to develop a positive, caring school environment in which all students, parents and staff feel a strong connection to.
Location
Olson is the district’s newest elementary school located on Madison’s far west side.
Class Size
During the 08-09 school year, Olson was at 37 percent capacity with an enrollment of 273 students. For the 09-10 school year, we are projected to have 320 students. We currently have approximately 18 students in grade K and 1, and approximately 22-23 students in each of our 2/3 and 4/5 classrooms.
Family Partnerships
Many Olson parents and guardians volunteer to assist teachers or share their talents and interests in classrooms. In addition, the Olson PTO is instrumental in supporting numerous programs such as the Book Fair/ Ice Cream Social, Popcorn Days, Family Nights, Spring Carnival, coordinating special assemblies, etc.
