Cottage Grove School at a Glance
Cottage Grove School is a learning community serving approximately 465 students in grades 2-4 with seven sections at each grade level. We are conveniently located approximately 3 miles east of Madison, WI on Highway N between Interstate 90 and 94.
As a staff, we strive to challenge our students in meeting state academic standards. Our goal is for each student to demonstrate academic growth across content areas. Our performance on the WKCE (Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Exam) during the 2007-2008 school year showed greater than 95% of our students performing in the proficient or advance ranges in reading across grade levels. In Math, greater than 88% of our students performed in the proficient or advance ranges across grade levels.
Cottage Grove School offers a well-rounded experience in the Related Arts through weekly instruction in art, music, physical education and IMC (Instruction Media Classes). Strings classes are offered as an elective for students in grade 4. A gifted and talented program is available for students who demonstrate a need.
